About

Sean Leask

Motion Artist & Multimedia Designer

In the recent years since 2020, I have been involved in the iGaming industry where my core role has been in the multimedia creative sector of various international online casinos. Where I have worked on brand development, campaign art direction and 3D brand asset creation and motion design. I have lead 5+ various campaigns both internally and externally for the brands and have been pivotal in the direction of one of the worlds longest running online casinos, Jackpot City Casino. See my work in my portfolio section for further details.

The start of my career – in my capacity as graphic designer and brand developer, I designed and worked on various wine label brands such as Diemersdal, Haute Carbriere and Blaauwklippen. I developed numerous brand identities, such as Pepper Club Hotel & Spa, Kwandwe Nature Reserve and Fox & Hedgehog Consulting.

The Cellars-Hohenhort Hotel gave me the opportunity to be the editor of the first drone video filmed of a hotel premises in South Africa in 2014, and this got me into the film industry, where I worked on a promotional fundraiser video for Lasec Laboratories, who develop scientific equipment for the Science Industry.

In my capacity as videographer at Hero Film, I filmed a documentary in Rwanda (Adapting Rwanda – Growing Rwanda’s Tea and Coffee Sectors in a Changing Climate.

I was camera operator for a 360 VR experience video for the City of Cape Town (Cape Town Thrills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjRibwT_0xw) where I operated a 360 degree camera down Table Mountain while Abseiling, suspended it while Paragliding off Signal Hill, even sand boarding down the Atlantis dunes. Additional to the VR video production process, I edited and created a VR video for Nedbank Experience which was presented to over 10 000 people at the Soweto Soccer Stadium on the Nedbank Cup of 2016. I assisted in producing the music and editing the Netball 2023 Winning City AV that was aired at the Prize giving event at 2019 Netball World Cup in Manchester. It was presented to a stadium full of spectators and fans, as well as aired worldwide.

While working at Soapbox Films (previously known as Hero Film), I have been actively involved as Cinematographer and Editor for City of Cape Town, especially during the Water Crisis where many of the videos I worked on were featured on the City of Cape Town’s Digital Platforms and played a large role in the behaviour change that helped reduce water consumption by 600 Million litres a day.

I filmed and photographed most of the content on the City of Cape Town's Online Stock Library - www.barberstock.com/capetown - which provides a broad spectrum of industry-related content made available to the global media. I also conceptualised, designed and animated a full CG realm for Old Mutual's Superfund Summit Conference, created and animated 3D graphics and logo animations for Old Mutual Leadership Sessions which received very positive feedback from the client.
